With the rampant advancement of digital media, it has become almost impossible to keep any secret for long.
After mind-boggling and eye-opening revelations of Wiki Leaks, Dunya Leaks generated by Mubashir Lukman, Mehar Bokhari and Malik Riaz have rocked the entire Pakistani nation.
This is again owed to social media that has proved its power once again, making the traditional and conventional Pakistanis realise that the influence of the broadcast media is shifting towards the online journalism.
Moreover, Dunya Leaks have exposed the real face of our self-made journalists and pseudo intellectuals who daily consume a lot of air time and space to wash our brains.
Now, every sane Pakistani has come to know that almost 95 percent of the current affairs talk shows and exclusive interviews are planted and planned. Objectivity is the least practised thing in our media organisations.
Apart from its funny aspect, it is a pathetic and disgusting phenomenon which will surely hit a sever blow to the credibility of our mainstream media.
It is quite clear now that the media does not always work in the national interest, rather it has its own heinous and hidden interests. This is what the social scientists call ‘Political Economy of Media’.
Most of all, the shameful and mournful thing is that an under-metric property tycoon is operating the minds and hearts of all the journalists and politicians. This is a point worth pondering, but alas we could ponder!
Luxury villas, expensive cars and continental foods are more important than human ethics and national interest. So disgusting, so stupid.
