Nokia Releases Pressure-Sensitive Touch Screen Phone

nokia-pressure-sensitive-touch-screen-phoneNokia patent debuts pressure-sensitive touch screen phone coming and this amazing phone will put in severity to your button-pushing

The rather mystifying picture features a patent lately filed by Nokia in the US for a “user interface for controlling an electronic device.”
We know, we know; handling a phone by poking your muggy fingers into the screen is nothing novel and nor – for that reason – is multi-touch.

What Nokia wants to do with it however is put in pressure-sensitivity to the dispute. Fundamentally the chicken idea is to have a touch screen display that enables multi-touch pinching as well as zooming, at the same time as distinguishing between how hard each finger is pressing the screen. The applications of this could comprise the very slight (pinching and zooming more this way than that etc) to essentially value added functionality.

Nokia, seeing that could use this to resolve that a hard push is a double click, or when pushed anywhere on various applications could broach a task bar (such as a Windows Mobile taskbar) where a normal push would not.

Either way, it’s only a patent right now, so we’re ready be on the horizon searching out how Nokia put it to use. Stay tuned.
