Nokia Android Netbook 2010

Nokia Android Netbook in 2010
An predictor from Lazard Capital Markets (Daniel Amir) reported that Nokia is going to debut an ANdroid netbook in 2010. It would be sold through the carriers and probably located as a superior smartphone rather than a smaller PC – a big oversight at least as far as I believe!
“In our talks with ODMs, we have looked into the matter in detail that Nokia is planning to come in the netbook market with a Google Android, ARM-based netbook that would be sold at carriers. Bearing in mind that the market is subjugated by the PC players, we believe Nokia could face a rising battle to thrive in this market.”
I don’t think a “jumbo Nokia N97″ as VentureBeat tells, would be an awful idea even running Android. But why would you spot it as a jumbo N97? Give these kinds of products a novel trademark and position them as smartbooks or netbooks.
Being sold through a carrier you’ll also be exploring a monthly service charge rather than just buying the hardware and depending on your next-door WiFi connection to do the trick. If there is a collapse to this model – THAT would be it. If Nokia makes a persuasive product why shouldn’t it be able to vie through non-carrier retail channels? Price could be one concern… but 2010 is still much far away so we’ll keep our eyes on this emerging story and all Android Netbook developing stories, really …. Well best of luck Nokia!
