Future Facebook Emoticons Funny
Want to know a funny fact? Recently a study concluded that while using Facebook’s chat feature 103% of the users used Facebook Funny chat Emoticons in every line. Emoticons are mostly used by grandparents, teenagers and people who can’t read, it’s just another way of showing what you feel. With their popularity among people there is an ever-growing need for more emoticons.
Facebook users have a problem, illiteracy, which is mostly by choice, but literacy or no literacy they’re humans, they have feelings and that is where emoticons jump in the scene. Facebook smiley faces are pretty popular among users, by using these facebook smileys one is able to convey their message (feeling) properly to the other.
- They have [happy emoticon], for when you are feeling happy
- [Sad] for when you are feeling sad
- [Slanted emoticon] for when you are feeling, uh, something
- [Sunglasses] for when you are feeling cool
- A [pacman] for when you feel like referencing that for some stupid reason (this never happens)
- [Tongue] for when you are feeling cheeky
- And even a [shark] for when you are feeling shark.
Seriously, the shark is easier to work into conversation than the Pac-Man.
If you use that continuously, there may be something wrong with you.
Emoticons and Communication
You know the actual reason why emoticons were created? So that people could differentiate between what was and what wasn’t a joke, in the hopes for improving communication between Internet people. But ironically this goal was never quiet achieved.
So after the emoticons started being used widely, the creators realized that each emoticons could convey multiple meanings. And instead of making communication easier they made it more confusing at times, killing the purpose for which they were made. Facebook smiley faces for instant are not sufficient enough for conveying the right sort of feelings; at times they just confuse the receiver further of the sender’s intention.
Speaking of discovering unusual emotions, that’s another problem with emoticons. Just what exactly are the fundamental emotions? And what about those unusual feelings that we don’t even think about? And the emotions, which don’t support a facial expression what is to be done for that? And what about emotions that we might, as a species, develop or recognize in the future?
New Emotions
Researchers have announced the existence of an emotion called ‘Elevation’, which basically means a moment of inspiration, or a moment of complete satisfaction and although you can’t define elevation in a few words but it’s still an emotion.
You remember watching in pursuit of happiness, the scene where at the end will smith gets his job after all? The point where you start tearing up, well that feeling is pretty much elevation. And what’s so amazing is that this very emotion has no facial expression attached to it, it’s just a feeling!
And with the ever growing internet, there is a need for more emoticons for these very unusual emotions that you feel and would like to express to your friends. Facebook smilies for instant are limited and show just a few of the basic emotions, what does one do when feeling something complicated that can’t be described or attached to a certain facial expression? But sadly even the basic emotions are still thought of as not up to the mark, so I guess we just have to wait for the creators to come up with creative ways of expressing our feelings. Till then we have to find creative ways of using the already available emoticons to our very best!
